What nappies do I need?
WEENEES PANTS
* How many do I need?
Weenees Baby Pouch pants do not need changing at every nappy change, just take out the wet pad and replace with a new one.  This allows you to work with a minimum of three or four pairs, one on, one in the wash and one or two ready to wear.  They don’t take long to wash and dry and if the inner waterproof pouch becomes soiled, then it can easily be snap fastened out and a fresh one snapped in.  A few extra pouches will take the pressure off the need to wash the pants as regularly, so it is up to the individual requirements as to how many pairs you have in the end (and they do come in many different colours!).  Remember to take into account newborns have very liquid bowels in the first few months which require changing more often.  Weenee Pouch Snibbs are a very economical option to start with and can even take baby through to the Medium size if you want to avoid investing in Small size pants (a small inner pouch will snap into the Medium size pants allowing the Medium pants to be used for smaller babies).

* What is the cost to use the Weenees System?
The following is a suggested guide only as all babies vary greatly in their size and needs, some will be in the Snibb or Small size for many months (up to six months for some premi babies), others are almost out of them to start with.

Most parent using our system will use a combination of cloth nappies sometimes and our flushable/compostable pads at others which can result in the overall cost being as little as $4 per week to $27 per week or an average of $15.50 per week if half cloth and half Weenees pads are used:-

Stage 1 - Just born 2 to 6kg (approx 0 to 3 months)- We suggest starting with Small Eenee Compostables for the first few months rather than invest in a reusable option which bub will grow out of very quickly, however if you want reusable from the very beginning then we suggest you start with 4 Weenees Pouch Snibbs @$11.95ea  = $47.80 which can be used for the first few months with either a small rectangular folded cloth nappy, the Eenee Microfiber cloth nappy or the Weenees Small Pads @ $19.95 per carton of 40 pads.  Newborns tend to need changing more regularly than older babies so allow for 6 to 8 pad changes per day or approx $24 per week in pads.  The Pouch Snibbs may take you through to the size Medium Pouch Pants or you can invest in some Small size Pouch Pants for a better fit in the first few months (depending on the budget).  If using cloth nappies we also suggest using our Eenee flushable Nappy Liners to keep babies bottom dry and make cleaning messy nappies much easier ($69.30 per 500 liners or $0.139 per nappy change)

Total cost for Stage 1 (approx first 3 months 2-6kg) if using Pouch Snibbs and your cloth nappies = $47.80 plus washing costs and initial purchase of cloth nappies (approx $60 per 2doz (or $50 for 1doz New Eenee Microfiber cloth nappies), if using large fluffy terry nappies, cut a few in half for the Newborn or Small stage, these can be used as booster pads in the bigger size pants later so spread cost over 3 years at 0.055c per day).  Add estimate washing cloth nappies per week costs approx $2.60 detergent plus 8 changes per day @ $0.139 per nappy liner. (cost per week $14.17 with flushable liners or $6.40 per week without flushable liners)

or Total cost for Stage 1 if using Pouch Snibbs and Small Weenees Flushable Pads for first 3 months = $47.80 pants + $24 per week in pads ($27.98 per week)

Stage 2 - 6 to 12kg (approx 3 months to 24 months) - We suggest 4 pair of Weenees Pouch Pants size 0-2 @ $23.95ea plus 2 extra pouches @ $8.80ea =  $113.40 which can be used with the cloth nappies or Weenees Medium Pads at $29.95 per carton of 40 pads.  Stage 2 babies will use approx 3 pads during the day and 2 overnight which is equal to approx $26 per week

Total cost for stage 2 (approx next 21 months) if using Pouch Pants and cloth = $113.40 plus cost to wash cloth nappies at 6 changes per day. ($9.80 per week with flushable liners or $4 per week without flushable liners)

or Total cost for stage 2 if using Pouch Pants and Medium Pads = $1.35 pants + $26.00 per week in pads ($27.35 per week)

Stage 3 - 12 to 16kg (approx 24 to 48 months) - We suggest 4 pair of Weenees Pouch Pants size 2-4 @ $23.95ea = $95.80 which can be used with the cloth nappies or Weenees Medium Pads at $29.95 per carton of 40 pads.  Stage 3 babies will use approx 3 pads during the day and 2 overnight which equals approx $26 per week.

Total cost for stage 3 (approx 24 months) if using Pouch Pants and cloth = $95.80 plus cost to wash cloth nappies. ($9.50 per week with flushable liners or $3.60 per week without flushable liners)

or Total cost for stage 3 if using Pouch Pants and Medium Pads = $1.00 + $26.00 per week in pads ($27.00 per week)
